Sydney and Matt’s black-tie wedding in Wilmington, North Carolina was the kind of day that unfolded effortlessly, without rush or tension, just a lot of love and very steady joy. With Sydney’s family living locally, the day felt rooted and meaningful from the start—elegant, intentional, and deeply personal.
Their ceremony took place at Kenan Chapel, which is one of those spaces that doesn’t need much to feel sacred. Intimate, light-filled, and quietly stunning, it set the tone perfectly for a ceremony that felt heartfelt without being overly formal. Photographing their vows there was a dream—every angle felt timeless, and the emotion in the room was unmistakable.
Sydney was the definition of classic bridal elegance. Her getting-ready space alone deserved its own moment—beautiful natural light, enchanting wallpaper, and that calm-before-the-day feeling every photographer hopes for. She was gracious, kind, and fully present all day long. Matt, in a timeless tux, was patient, adoring, and completely locked in on her from start to finish.
After the ceremony, the celebration moved to the Dye Club at Landfall Country Club for a formal reception that leaned clean, classic, and refined. White florals, a striking black-and-white dance floor, and a DJ who kept the energy exactly where it needed to be—elevated, but fun. It was polished without feeling stiff, which is harder to pull off than it looks.
One of my favorite moments of the day happened quietly at sunset. Just the three of us slipping away to the Intracoastal for portraits while the light softened and the day exhaled. Those few minutes felt intimate and unhurried—an honest pause in the middle of a full, beautiful celebration.
